ENGINEERED FLOORING
Engineered flooring is the perfect combination of practicality and authenticity. Constructed in layers, generally made from birch plywood, engineered flooring has a top layer veneer made from solid wood.
Layers
It's these layers underneath which provide engineered flooring with a greater structural stability than solid wood floors. This means that it's not as prone to shrinking or warping with changes in environmental conditions.
Due to this stability, it is possible for engineered floors to be installed using any fitting method, including nail, glue down and float.
TOP LAYER
The solid wood veneer generally ranges from 3-6mm in thickness and is suitable for sanding.
Sanding can remove between 0.5 to 1mm of wood per sanding. A thicker wear layer means your floor can be sanded and refinished more often, increasing the lifespan of the floor.
